Quail – Gambel’s Quail Mama and Chicks – Greeting Card

This is a photo of a Gambel’s Quail mama with her chicks taken by me in Northern Arizona. Quail parents are amazing in how well they work together to keep their little ones safe. When they travel, Mom is usually in the front, and Dad keeps watch from the back. When they stop to eat, Dad finds a high spot so that he can keep watch for any dangers, but he also acts as a decoy to keep any unwanted attention away from his family. Another great example of how well nature is designed.
